My daughter and I were in a local craft store the other day; looking for a tea cup and saucer. I was talking with the owner about the shop and she explained that most of the items for sale are made by local artisans who either rent space or sell on consignment. All of a sudden, I was asking her if anybody sold handmade soap. She asked, "No, why? Do YOU make handmade soap?" I told her I did and she was pretty excited about that. She said she'd love to talk with me about selling my soap in her shop.
However, thanks to wonderful friends and family members who bought my soaps during our adoption fund raising, I currently have no soap to sell. But, that is an easy, and FUN, problem to fix! I am happy to say I am making soap again and am chock full of new and creative ideas that I can't wait to share!
Below are my first two batches of soap that will need to cure for 2 - 4 weeks. The first is called "Relax" and it is a bluish-gray, marbled soap that smells like lavender, vanilla, jasmine and musk. It is truly relaxing.
The second batch is Wasabi! It is a fun and uplifting scent that is sure to wake up the sleepiest of morning folk. I can't wait to try it myself!
I have some soap supplies coming in next week and I can't wait to get started on my next round of ideas. A bit of copy-catting off some other soaps I've seen, but they'll still have some of my originality in them. I don't want to give any of it away, so stop back by soon to see my latest creations!
