I'm a southern girl at heart. I like vinegar-based, pork BBQ sandwiches with cole slaw on top, baked beans on the side and sweet tea. If I could, I'd live off the land and never shop at the supermarket again. I hate that my food comes wrapped in cellophane and in boxes, and I really hate that whole food costs more than processed food. Suburban life sometimes doesn't sit well with me, so I spend my time creating projects that get me outdoors; working my, barely, quarter acre lot. I imagine my neighbors look out their windows and wonder, "what in the world is she doing now?!" I'd have goats and chickens in the yard, but I think that's against our home owners association contract. No, I didn't grow up on a farm. I just like them. Once upon a time, I was a news anchor in Fairbanks, Alaska. No, it isn't dark and cold all the time...just half the time. I even lived in a log cabin with an outhouse. Funny thing about outhouses...there's no guessing what someone's doing in there. Other places I've lived as an adult include: North Carolina, Virginia, Indiana, England, South Carolina, and now, Missouri. These days, I spend my mornings homeschooling my two kids while my toddler pulls out Wii games and hides toys under the couch. A good morning is when we're finished with school before lunch. I enjoy coming up with new, "kooky" projects (as my husband calls them) to keep myself entertained.
This is me now. Me back in 1995. |
